Adopt the resolution approving the Master Subscriber Agreement with the State of Minnesota Office of State Court Administration for Minnesota Court Data Services for Government Agencies and authorize the City Attorney to sign the agreement.
SUMMARY:
The State requires the City sign an agreement to access a new computer program to access court documents. This access is essential for conducting prosecutions and other City legal services.
BACKGROUND:
As part of the City Attorney's Office day-to-day duties prosecuting for the City of Apple Valley, the Office utilizes a computer program called Odyssey to access court documents and information on cases it is prosecuting. As of July 31, 2016, Odyssey will still be operational but access to court documents will no longer be available. The Minnesota Government Access Program will be the only program that allows government agencies to access court documents. Access to this new program is essential in order to effectively meet the needs of the City.
